Best Bottle
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Best Bottle (“Best Bottle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Best Bottle mobile application (the “App”), which helps you find the best-value wines on a wine list. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Best Bottle is operated by Megabee, a Delaware corporation, with offices at 38 West 22nd St., Fl. 7, New York, NY 10010, United States.
The App is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their country of residence (21+ in the United States). It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13 (or the minimum age required where you live). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
1. Account information you provide. When you create an account we collect your email address and password, and optionally your first name, last name, display name, and phone number. Your password is stored only in an encrypted (hashed) form — we cannot see it.
2. Content you submit for scanning. To identify wines, you can submit a wine list as a photo, a PDF or CSV file, or a web link / QR code. We receive this content on our servers and use a text-recognition (OCR) service to read the text of the list, then match the wines against our wine database. This content is used only for this purpose.
3. Wines you save. Wines you mark as favorites, and entries you add to your drink history — which may include the wine, your rating, the price, the restaurant name, the date, a tip amount, and your personal notes — are stored under your account so they are available across your sessions and devices.
4. Technical and usage information. When the App communicates with our servers we process standard technical data such as your device’s IP address and request metadata, and we generate authentication tokens that keep you signed in (stored securely on your device). We also apply rate limits (for example, a cap on scans per hour) to protect the service.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not sell your personal information.
We share personal information only as needed to run the service:
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We keep your account information and the wines you save for as long as your account is active. Wine lists you submit are processed to produce results that are stored under your account. When you delete your account, we permanently erase your account and the data associated with it, as described below.
The App gives you direct control over your data:
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights — such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise the core rights directly in the App, or contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings.
We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
We operate in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
